stuff, things and junk 4/29/08
new coldplay song is available now at www.coldplay.com. it's also our new music obsession of the week www.91x.com. unlike gwen with gavin, gwenyth obviously hasn't gotten her hands on chris's balls yet. awesome.
the new alkaline trio record is so good, i may actually buy a copy of it on 7/1 just to say thanks to skiba, adriano and grant for creating it.
apparently roger clemens had a 10-year affair with country trainwreck mindy mccready, beginning when she was as young as 15. and apparently they met at a karaoke bar in ft. myers, florida. and apparently, roger clemens doesn't think being a pedophile and philanderer is worse than a roid head. stupid. hillbilly. retard.
iron man opens friday. it will either be a cinematic masterpiece or a colossal trainwreck. either way, ill be standing in line this weekend at least once.

declaration
hi there.
my name is garret. but most of my friends call me either capone or cap1.
i like music. a lot. "they" pay me to pick and play it. that fancy job title is "music director/assistant program director", but whatever.
i also like to talk. "they" pay me to do it from 2-6pm m-f, too. that not-so-fancy job title is "afternoons", but whatever.
before "they" hired me, i ran a station in ny. that fancy job title was "program director", but whatever.
my station in ny won. a lot.
"they" are finest city broadcasting/91x. and contrary to what the uninformed might suggest, "we" are just about as independent as it gets.
when i want to do something, i walk next door to my boss' office. i get an answer immediately. usually the answer is yes, and even when it's not, the reason is always a good one.
speaking of the uninformed, very few people actually have real access (read: proprietary) to the tools that measure a radio stations' success (read: ratings).
well, i do. and trust me - if this station was going to fail, i wouldn't be here. period.
so for all those people who think they understand how things are/should be for "us":
fuck your music superiority complex.
and your hipster elitist attitude.
and your thin-slicing.
other than that, hugs all around.
